Is There Such a Thing As Perfect Timing, To Make a Business Decision?
The answer to this has to be an overriding 'YES'.
Principally because the issue surrounds the market readiness for any product. A product cannot be launched unless the market is ready, in other words a chain reaction has to have occurred and technology developed for the marketplace to accept the product.
All of the apps on one's mobile device can only be launched once not only everyone carries a mobile but also that the technology can receive and relay the messages. If the technology is slow then the product will not sell.
Electric cars, which I wrote about in my last blog, are a prime example. Technology is ready, the support mechanisms are in place and the product looks sleek and is well priced.
In this instance the market determines.
It also determines the timing and way you would hire your team. As your business grows you need other skills to complement your own. Hence the need to hire and make decisions at various times. If you out on a full team in readiness for 1000's of sales you would be a fool, but you need to constantly monitor the skill base that you have to be in a position to hire the right skill at the right time.
So timing for any decision is required. Whether you can make the timing perfect or not is another matter.
