Limited Edition Bonus Chapter

‘Drive like a Real Entrepreneur’ is my new book about to be launched tomorrow on 27th January 2015 at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall in London. Drive like a Real Entrepreneur

The standard edition is on Amazon and available through all booksellers and is receiving very favourable reviews.

However, there is also a Limited Edition available from my website (as below) which includes a bonus chapter, Chapter 10 The End Game; Selling Your Business.

The sale of a business can be considered the ‘holy grail’ - it is certainly the end game. It should deliver the proceeds for the entrepreneur that make the hard work over the years extremely worthwhile and valuable.

This bonus chapter is full of interesting insights, experiences and views from genuine entrepreneurs who have sold their businesses.

Section 10.1 starts with the end in mind and sets the scene for the main thrust of the chapter, while Section 10.2  ‘the Process’, includes:

  1. Deciding to sell.
  2. Finding the buyer.
  3. The negotiation.
  4. Reasons deals fail.
  5. Pitching the price and the deal
  6. Due diligence
  7. Looking at the deal in its totality
  8. What next?

Each of these areas is discussed by actual entrepreneurs and supported with expert commentary. Their views are fascinating, practical and a valuable read. Question yourself, and match their comments to your own thoughts.

There are 17 contributors who have;

  • sold 36 businesses;
  • owned 381 years in business;
  • employed 6,825 members of staff; and
  • notched up, at the time of disposal, sales of £1.1 billion!

Chapter 10.3 considers whether the entrepreneur should take advice. There are conflicting views from the contributors. However the overall outcome is that taking advice is valuable but only from trusted and experienced advisors. The common thread from the entrepreneurs interviewed was that they were, generally happy with the outcomes achieved and advice taken at the time.

Remember – entrepreneurs provide a solutions to their customers, employment for their employees and customers for their suppliers. Without the entrepreneur, there would be no story to tell.

In the rest of the book, there are specific comments on the characteristics of being an entrepreneur, together with up-to-date, practical and useful management tools and techniques for entrepreneurs. In my next couple of blogs, I will share with you a couple of these tools, as a sample of what you will find in my new book.

I hope these will be helpful for you, both existing and aspiring entrepreneurs!

Give it a go for your business and let me know how you get on.

If you have any questions, please let me know - I look forward to hearing from you.
